A report on Wednesday from ESPN that two teams tried trading for LeBron James recently has caused quite a stir. Of course, the Los Angeles Lakers rebuffed both attempts made, which came from the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers, but it brought up the question of whether James will remain with the team past this season.
He has a player option for next season that he could decline in order to become a free agent this summer. One can never be fully sure what James has planned for the future, especially when the Lakers have struggled until recently to consistently put together wins.
But while on the “Stephen A. Smith Show,” Rich Paul, James’ agent, said the superstar is “committed to the Lakers.”

There is a sizable contingent of Lakers fans that is sick of James and Klutch Sports Group, which is run by Paul, and wants James gone. However, the fact that his eldest son Bronny is playing at the University of Southern California and his other son Bryce is currently in his junior year at Campbell Hall could sway him to remain with the Purple and Gold.
