Rich Eisen tells Steelers fans ‘you are out of your frickin’ minds’ about Mike Tomlin

Not one Pittsburgh Steelers fan isn’t upset about what a hot mess their team has been in 2023. And that starts at the top with head coach Mike Tomlin.

Some of his supporters have grown weary of the standard is the standard of 16 consecutive winning seasons with nothing to show for it since winning the AFC in 2010.

Rich Eisen has been a staunch supporter of Tomlin for decades and believes Steelers fans don’t know how good they have it.

“If you want this to be the moment the Steelers finally get rid of Mike Tomlin, you are out of your frickin’ minds,” Eisen said on The Rich Eisen Show… Mike Tomlin is one of the best coaches of all time. He’s going to be in the Hall of Fame one day. It’s going to happen.”

Pittsburgh finds itself in a situation it hasn’t been in nearly two decades: Without a clear answer at quarterback.

“Steelers fans, I know you’re very disappointed with that loss, and you can’t believe what this and that and the other thing is. Pickett may not be the guy. It may take some time. Not everyone is, apparently, Jordan Love… or Stroud.”

Eisen’s sidekick, T.J. Jefferson, offers a glimpse into what the coaching situation could be without Tomlin. “Would you rather be the Carolina Panthers on coach seven in three years?”

Definitely not. Steelers fans only ask is for Tomlin to coach the team up to where they could be legit playoff contenders and go toe-to-toe with competitive teams.

It’s been seven seasons since the Steelers won a playoff game, and that kind of success is what fans are craving. Only this team has shown week in and week out that they can’t compete with the best.

“Just watch. This is when Tomlin does his finest work,” Eisen said. “I could be wrong. I think they win this week against New England and we’ll see what happens in Indianapolis.”

Media who say the Steelers can beat the Patriots are quick to forget they fell to the then 2-10 Arizona Cardinals and have a history of playing down to bad teams.
