Rhyse Martin insists his priority is helping Leeds Rhinos win games, not set goal-kicking records as he moves close to a remarkable feat. Martin has kicked his last 27 goals without failure, with his last miss coming all the way back at the Magic Weekend in Newcastle.
He continued his perfect record from the tee last week with four from four as the Rhinos strengthened their play-off credentials with victory over Warrington Wolves. Mason Lino currently holds the record in Super League and the NRL, with 36 straight conversions in a row - a record Martin himself had before the Wakefield Trinity scrum-half surpassed him last season. The record outside of Super League is 41, set by Jamie Ellis and Liam Finn.
But as he closes in on tying with Lino's Super League record, Martin says he isn't interested in anything other than continuing Leeds' own remarkable run of form. "The only thing that matters is climbing up the table," he told Rugby League Live.

"The goal-kicking, it's a confidence thing and I've got my confidence with it back. It helps when the boys are scoring loads of tries close to the posts, don't get me wrong! But confidence plays a big part. The way we are as a team at the moment, it's a great group to be a part of and I really don't think about any of these streaks or records people tell me about."
Martin will look to extend that record on Wednesday evening as Leeds face the Giants in a huge West Yorkshire derby. The game will have major ramifications on where both teams finish inside the top six, and Martin admits he is grateful Leeds' squad is healthier than some of their rivals going into a chaotic run of fixtures.
"Chaotic is the right word for sure," he said. "I'm just glad we've got through the last couple of games pretty healthily but it's a tough period, especially with two top four teams in the next few games.
"It's very tough for players, some teams are pretty stuffed with who to pick and players are playing hurt. Maybe the suspensions with us has helped! But we're really lucky in that regard ourselves to have a decent squad in terms of being fully-fit, that's a big plus for us."
