Tanya Bardsley has revealed she's finding it hard to support the Fifa World Cup which is currently being held in Qatar.
The country has come under fire for its human rights beliefs, with stoning being a legal punishment, while being gay can result in the death penalty.
While there are no known cases of the death penalty being handed out, those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community can also face up to three years in prison.
Qatar is also against same-sex marriages and civil partnerships, and it is not allowed to campaign for LGBTQ+ rights.
In recent weeks, the One Love armband worn by footballers were forced to be removed after teams, including England, faced heat from the governing body, Fifa.
Speaking about the World Cup, Tanya, who is the wife of former Burnley striker Phil Bardsley said: "I don't actually know if Phil is [watching the World Cup], but I'm not, I think it's disgusting.
"Football is supposed to be about one love, all-inclusive – it's not supposed to be about politics or anything but then banning the rainbow?
"I do think the protests should have started sooner but I just can't [get behind it] and I feel sorry for our football lads because it's not their fault."
Tanya continued: "I want to support the England lads, I want to get behind my country but I just can't, it's just got a really nasty, vile taste in my mouth.
"It's everyone's personal preference but I just can't get excited or like it."
The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star went on to suggest it was a "bad decision" to hold the World Cup in the winter due to the increased cost of living and being so close to Christmas.
Recently, Tanya surprised her former Real Housewives co-stars in Mexico and joined them to film a special Christmas spin-off.
Discussing the adventure, she said: "I loved it, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to Mexico, they started in San Francisco and they'd been on the cruise for three days solid, at sea – I said 'Not a chance,' because I've got a fear of water and boats.
"But in Mexico, it was more docked, I surprised them on land and was waiting at the bar, it was amazing, I was excited from the beginning to end."
Tanya admits she struggled not to tell her pals but revealed the news to Lystra Adam's daughter, Jasmine, who was forced to keep it a secret.
But the football mum insists that viewers will see "belly laughs" as well as the infamous Cheshire drama.
