Rhino's Masked Singer identity 'in doubt' before final as off screen Twitter clue spotted by fans

Just who is Rhino on The Masked Singer has been thrown into some doubt, right before the show's final, after fans spotted a clue on Twitter.

Rhino is just a few performances away from victory on the ITV show, battling out with Fawn and Phoenix in the last episode of the current series on Saturday night and many fans are convinced and have been for weeks that Rhino is Charlie Simpson, with his distinctive vocals sealing the deal as far as Busted fans are concerned; with their theory helped on by nods to the band's singles Year 3000 and Crashed the Wedding and one last week that eluded to their Ticket for Everyone tour.

There has also been a thinly veiled reference to Paint Your Target, a track by Charlie's other band Fightstar, meaning he is the hot favourite to be behind the mask when his identity is finally revealed this weekend. However, another star who has been mentioned on a regular basis by The Masked Singer panel and people on Twitter is James Arthur.

While it would be hard to relate many of the clues in Rhino's VTs to the X Factor winner, there is no denying that the character sounds at least a little bit like James. And, whether he has unwittingly given himself away or tried to throw a red herring into the mix right before the final, fans on Twitter have noticed that James follows an account called 'Rhino from The Masked Singer - official.'

A search of Rhino's followers reveals James is on there and that has fuelled the suggestion that the Impossible singer is Rhino, rather than Charlie.

The subject of just who is Rhino has sparked fierce debate online with Busted fans struggling to believe how any could think Rhino is anyone but Charlie, while there is growing support for it being James inside the costume.
