Rhasidat Adeleke makes history by breaking 50 second barrier for 400m in record run

Ireland's Rhasidat Adeleke has broken her second National record in as many days by clocking a time of 49.90 in the 400m event at the Tom Jones Memorial Meeting in Florida.

With that time, Adeleke created another piece of history as she became the first Irish woman to ever break the 50 second barrier over 400m.

Although the scintillating time wasn't enough to win the race, with Britton Wilson taking the victory, the run solidified Adeleke's stance as the fastest Irish woman in history over this distance.
