RFK Jr launches cooking show with meals under $5

  • Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. launched The Real Food Show to teach Americans how to cook healthy, inexpensive meals, often for less than $5 a serving.
  • The cooking show aims to help viewers understand new dietary guidelines and prepare meals, with Kennedy emphasizing that healthy food is not necessarily more expensive than processed options.
  • Kennedy, a proponent of the "Make America Healthy Again" movement, will feature recipes that include his favorite fermented foods, such as kimchi and sauerkraut, despite previously receiving complaints for carrying sauerkraut with him.
  • The first episode features celebrity chef Andrew Gruel making crispy salmon cakes with an apple, white bean and greens salad, and future episodes will include chef Robert Irvine.
  • Kennedy highlighted the health benefits of fermented foods for gut health and noted that other administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance , have also adopted similar diets and lost weight.
