
Amid a lot of praise and some criticism for the New Delhi G20 declaration, the announcement of a new trade corridor has emerged as a major takeaway of the group summit in the national capital.
US president Joe Biden called it a “real big deal”, Saudi Arabia crown prince Mohammad Bin Salman said it will enhance “economic interdependence”, Italy prime minister Giorgia Meloni termed it a “milestone”, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared that it was “nothing less than historic”. A memorandum of understanding was reportedly signed by India, US, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Germany, France and the European Commission.
