Revolución de Cuba offers free burritos for a year to whoever can fill its new street food role

A popular restaurant-bar chain is on the lookout for 'the UK's biggest burrito fan' to fill a new role as a street food ambassador - and the successful candidate will find some very tasty perks to the job.

The Havana-inspired Revolución de Cuba, which has a branch in Newcastle's Cloth Market, is luring potential recruits with the promise of a free supply of burritos for a year if they fit the bill. The role will include a Revolución de Cuba Black Card which will entitle the holder to to a year’s supply of burritos.

What's more, the successful applicant will be able to share their Black Card with one other person who will be able to enjoy the treats too. The idea of the street food ambassador is to provide regular feedback with the wider Revolución team to ensure that the food is hitting the mark.

The position is set to appeal to anyone who enjoys Cuban-Spanish cuisine such as burritos, tacos and quesadillas and those interested are invited to apply to the company explaining why they think they would be a good fit for the task. And it suggests that the more creative the better in the applications.

Revolución de Cuba says it is looking for the UK’s biggest burrito fan to act as its new street food ambassador and the chosen person is in for a year's supply of burritos (PR)

Burrito fans should email baeritto@revolutionbarsgroup.com with their name - and that of the person they would share their Black Card with - plus date of birth, location, and the explanation about why they might suit the role. In jokey questions, the company asks the likes of, do they have a burrito tattoo; is their child named Taco; was their wedding catering dedicated to street food and did their first date with their partner include a stop-off at a food truck?

Kat Schofield, brand marketing manager at Revolución de Cuba, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for street food-lovers to get involved in keeping our menu feeling fresh. Our street food ambassador will be rewarded for their work with free food from Revolución de Cuba for a whole year with their Black Card."

Applications for the role will close on February 8. Four top candidates will be picked two days later and, from these, Revolución de Cuba then will be inviting its social media followers to choose the winner.
