Even though he didn’t throw a single touchdown pass in Thursday night’s 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, rookie quarterback Will Levis gave Titans fans a lot of reasons to believe that he could be the franchise quarterback they’ve been yearning for.
Levis threw for 262 yards before a game-ending interception, but he had to take a shot at the end zone with no timeouts remaining.
The one real knock I have is how the young signal-caller tends to be too aggressive in situations where he just needs to gain a few yards. That’s something he’ll undoubtedly learn the more experience he gets.
What really stood out throughout the game was how unflappable and poised Levis was on the road against a Steelers pass-rush that dominated the Titans’ tackles. He just kept getting right back up and punching back.
Will Levis might be a dude. Hopefully we get to see him behind a solid OL at some point!

Another thing that stood out was how often Levis correctly identified blitzes, subsequently allowing himself to get the ball out quickly to neutralize the pressure.
Lastly, the arm talent he possesses is a true game-changer for this franchise. We all saw his deep-ball prowess last Sunday, but Levis also makes some incredible throws using velocity and accuracy to get himself out of bad situations.
For example, while standing in his own end zone facing a first-and-23, the Kentucky product ripped a laser throw to DeAndre Hopkins for a gain of 29. It was the type of throw that a defender simply couldn’t do anything about.

He made several “wow” throws that should have Titans fans salivating over what he can become if he continues on his current trajectory.
Of course, Levis isn’t perfect by any means, but he isn’t expected to be as a rookie. What’s important is that he’s showing plenty of signs that he has what it takes to be the future of the franchise.
