Routine checks at Dublin Port and Airport over the weekend resulted in a hefty cannabis bust after 4.4kg was discovered in a vehicle while chewing tobacco was found in a package.
An Irish-registered car was stopped on its route through the Port from Holyhead and was searched, with officers estimating the concealed cannabis to be worth around €88k.
Two men in their 20s were arrested by An Garda Síochána at the scene and were detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Store Street Garda Station.
