Revealed! What Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill's strategy was against Zimbabwe in the 4th T20I

NEW DELHI: India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal disclosed the strategy he and skipper Shubman Gill employed during their fourth T20I match against Zimbabwe. The duo's primary objective was to secure a victory for their team without losing a single wicket, prioritizing the collective success over personal milestones.

Pursuing a target of 153 runs, Jaiswal and Gill launched a relentless assault on the Zimbabwean bowlers, achieving the goal in a mere 15.2 overs. This remarkable feat marked only the second time in T20I history that India has defeated Zimbabwe by a margin of 10 wickets.

“We were only thinking about finishing the game and make sure that the team wins and we finish without any loss (of a wicket)," Jaiswal told a group of fans after the game in a video shared by the BCCI.

Jaiswal's impressive performance propelled India to a commanding victory, securing an insurmountable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

The young opener showcased his aggressive batting style throughout the partnership.

“The only thing in the mind was to finish the game without any loss,” Jaiswal said.

“I really enjoyed playing today, it was an amazing experience with Shubman bhai and I really enjoyed scoring the runs. Whenever I play for India I really enjoy and feel proud," he added.

Jaiswal said he totally enjoyed the experience of being a part of the historic T20 World Cup feat.

“I enjoyed my process and being a part of the World Cup champion team and I learnt a lot. I was really excited. Whenever I get a chance I try my best and make sure that I am contributing for the team and winning the games for my team,” he said.

India will face Zimbabwe in the fifth and final T20I on Sunday at the Harare Sports Club.
