Commuters who park their car at London Bridge are being set back a whopping £35 per day, making it the most expensive train station for parking in the UK.
Six London stations top a list of the UK’s most expensive for parking, released by confused.com.
The financial services comparison site investigated the day rate for parking at 30 of the country’s busiest train stations.
It found that drivers keeping their car at London Bridge for more than seven hours will be faced with a bill of £34.95.
While it’s the most expensive station to park at, it’s only the fourth-busiest station in London.
King’s Cross is the next priciest station, charging drivers £29.95 for parking any time over five hours.
Like London Bridge, the car park at King’s Cross is run by NCP and is popular with commuters and tourists.
It’s followed by nearby St Pancras International which charges £27.70 for a stay of between six and twelve hours. St Pancras runs its own car park.
Coming in joint fourth on the list is APCOA-run car parks at Victoria, Paddington and Waterloo stations, which charge £26 a day.
Glasgow Central is closely behind at £25.95.
Reading charges £25 a day, making it the most expensive station in England for parking outside of the capital. Gatwick Airport also charges £25 per day.
The 10th most expensive station is Moorfields at £23.95.
For comparison, the UK’s cheapest train station car park is Bristol Temple Meads, with a daily cost of just £7.
Eye-watering parking fees have compounded with record-high petrol prices, causing headaches for Londoners who own a car.
Petrol is now 186.59p and diesel 192.48p making full fill-ups cost nearly £103 and almost £106 respectively, RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams said.
