A couple of dozen public servants were forced out of their jobs during the massive redundancy wave in the past financial year, The Canberra Times can reveal.
While the vast majority of departures were voluntary, 20 public servants were subjected to an involuntary redundancy across federal agencies in 2025-26.
A further 95 Senior Executive Service (SES) staff departed under formal "incentive to retire" arrangements, while 1193 ongoing employees accepted voluntary redundancy packages and 20 retrenchments were recorded as an unclassified redundancy.
