Ireland manager Stephen Kenny and captain Seamus Coleman both voted for Robert Lewandowski for FIFA’s Best Men’s Player.
The Polish striker picked up the award for the second year running as he edged out Paris Saint Germain’s Lionel Messi and Liverpool’s Mo Salah for the award.
Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski was rewarded for another outstanding season that saw him break Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a Bundesliga season, which stood for 39 years.
Coleman went for Messi in second place and Chelsea’s Ngolo Kanté third, while Kenny picked Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne second ahead of Salah.
Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas was named Best Women’s Player after spearheading the Catalan side’s run to a first-ever Champions League title.
Ireland captain Katie McCabe and coach Vera Pauw both had Putellas in their top three but not at number one, McCabe opting for Vivianne Miedema and Pauw Magdalena Eriksson.
McCabe put her Arsenal teammate ahead of Barca duo Putellas and Caroline Graham Hansen, while Pauw opted for Chelsea’s Eriksson, Miedema second and Putellas third.
Pauw gave Chelsea coach Emma Hayes her number one pick as she picked up the award for the first time, while McCabe went for Canada’s Olympic-winning coach Bev Priestman.
Priestman was second in Pauw’s list behind Swedish boss Peter Gerhardsson, while McCabe went for Gerhardsson second and Ukraine coach Lluís Cortés third.
It was a double for Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel picked up the men’s manager award but neither Coleman nor Kenny named him number one.
Both men named Italy’s Euro 2020-winning manager Roberto Mancini ahead Champions League-winner Tuchel and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City.
Pauw and McCabe were unanimous in voting Christiane Endler Best Women’s Goalkeeper, as were Kenny and Coleman in backing Gigi Donnarumma for Best Men’s Goalkeeper.
