Revealed: David and Victoria Beckham's 'reluctant' approach to Brooklyn's 27th birthday

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly hesitant to contact Brooklyn for his upcoming 27th birthday after their son called them out in a bombshell online statement.

The former photographer will turn 27 on March 4 - six weeks after he accused his “controlling” parents of trying to “endlessly ruin” his marriage to Nicola Peltz and said he has no plans to reconcile with them.

Brooklyn has also reportedly told his family to only contact him through his lawyers and recently removed a tattoo tribute to David.

It is thought the budding cook will spend his 27th with Nicola, 31, and her billionaire family in Los Angeles.

David and Victoria are said to be “devastated” at the thought of missing their eldest son’s big day, but “reluctant” to reach out.

“David and Victoria are disappointed that they won’t even be in contact with Brooklyn for his birthday this year,” a source told Metro.

The insider added: “It feels so different to how they usually celebrate together as a family. They love doing big family dinners with all of the kids and showering them with love, not to mention the childhood photos and tributes they share on Instagram.

”There’s even a reluctance to reach out this year, which is devastating. Brooklyn made his feelings clear in his statement and it feels like it’s best to leave any thoughts of a reunion up to him for now.”

The Standard has contacted the couple’s representatives for comment.

Brooklyn finally addressed his family’s feud in a six-page statement on his Instagram Stories in January after months of speculation.

Among the accusations, he claimed Victoria “inappropriately” danced on him at his 2022 wedding to Nicola.

“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he wrote.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.

“We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”

DJ Fat Tony, who performed at the wedding brunch, later backed up Brooklyn’s claims, saying Marc Anthony told Brooklyn to put his hands on Victoria’s hips and that the dance was “really awkward”.

The former Spice Girl also “wrapped her arms around Brooklyn” and “nuzzled into his neck,” according to Page Six.

Brooklyn also criticised his father, claiming that despite travelling to the UK for Sir David’s 50th birthday, repeated requests to meet beforehand were ignored.

Brooklyn said he was eventually offered a meeting on the condition that Nicola was not invited.

David appeared to fire back at Brooklyn’s claims hours later, by saying in a TV interview that “children are allowed to make mistakes”.
