Tributes have been paid following the death of a loved and respected disability rights campaigner and wheelchair athlete. Simon Green, of Bridgend, raised thousands of pounds of charity and campaigned tirelessly for disability rights.
Simon's death was announced by Bridgend Ravens RFC on social media. They wrote: "We are devastated to announce the passing of lifelong Ravens supporter Simon Green. Simon followed Bridgend across Wales and around Europe for decades and was a vital part of our volunteer group. He was a fantastic clubman and we'll miss him dearly. Rest in peace Simon".
Simon was known as the chair and co-founder of the Bridgend Coalition of Disabled People and made significant differences to those with disabilities including having dropped kerbs installed across the town.
