10-man Hearts prevailed 3-2 in a dramatic encounter against Motherwell in their latest Premiership match.
The Jambos dominated the first 40 minutes and really should have been ahead, with Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin both denied by 'Well goalkeeper Liam Kelly. Jorge Grant then gave the game a new dimension when he thundered into a tackle on Callum Slattery and referee Kevin Clancy didn't need VAR, instantly brandishing a red card for the challenge.
Andy Halliday then stepped up to be the hero for Hearts as he first headed in from a corner prior to half-time and then drilled a brilliant low effort into the corner. Soon though, the man advantage took its toll and Louis Moult halved the deficit with a penalty, and Blair Spittal levelled 10 minutes from time. But Lawrence Shankland won the day with a late penalty to move them fourth and two points off third. Here are three things we learned from Hearts' performance.

Stepping up
He's making a habit of goals now is Halliday, who stepped up to the mark when his team needed him the most.
Despite being a man down, he got out of his defensive position to make two big contributions further up the park for his third and fourth of the term.
Red card impact
The Jambos actually dealt quite well being a man down. Goals just before the half-time whistle and very quickly after certainly helped them.
This game's turning point was actually when Moult came on for the visitors, who seemed to give them an attacking spark they didn't have, but still Hearts prevailed.
Rowles return
A big positive for Hearts today was the return of centre-back Kye Rowles, who has been sorely missed for weeks due to a foot injury.
His addition to a bare bones backline is a major positive for his boss heading into another big week of games.
