Residents of Tappan Zee Drive in Pooler, Georgia, found themselves facing familiar challenges as Tropical Storm Debby caused flooding in their neighborhood. The storm, which brought heavy rainfall, resulted in ankle-deep flooding inside homes, leaving appliances swamped and residents watching as the water slowly rose.
Despite being located inland and seemingly not at high risk for tropical flooding, the neighborhood has a history of drainage issues dating back over a decade. Efforts by local authorities to address the problem have not been entirely successful, as evidenced by the recurring flooding incidents.
