Residents at Corbett House protest over repairs after two years of complaints

Residents at a Bristol tower block say they are fed up of waiting after two years of "promises" from Bristol City Council to fix maintenance issues.

Council tenants at Corbett House in Barton Hill have complained about noisy pipes that are keeping them up at night, leaks, periods without heating and hot water, mould, damp, and cracked windows. Last week some of them staged a protest outside in hope of achieving action.

Some residents in the high-rise claim that during Storm Eunice the whole building was shaking - one mum-of-three on the 14th floor said she feared the building was going to "fall down" and the windows were going to "shatter". The council says it has awarded a £3 million contract to refurbish the block, which will begin at the end of April, and that all the windows were serviced in 2018.
