Residents are nervous about a newly approved 36-home development in Nottingham, as they say the on-street parking in the area is already 'ridiculous'. The site in Lenton has been sitting vacant for around 10 years and, while many have welcomed the plan to use the land, fears remain over the parking situation.
Jan Kupiec, who lives on one side of the land in Harley Street, said the parking was already "ridiculous". "I already can't park my car," the 68-year-old told Nottinghamshire Live. "The street is full when people use the swimming pool [at the Lenton Centre], with all the mums and dads we can't park our own cars. It's supposed to be permit only."
The homes will be situated between Harley Street, Willoughby Street and Mettham Street, north of Prospect Place, and constructed for the Nottingham Housing Association. The scheme was approved at a planning meeting on September 21, with six councillors voting for the plans and two abstaining.
