If you've been eagerly awaiting Resident Evil Requiem and all its new twists on franchise lore, it might be time to go on social media blackout. There are now reports that early copies are already reaching players' hands, and it seems some of those players are eager to share what they've seen, so you'll want to prepare accordingly.
"I can personally verify there is at least one person out there who bought Resident Evil Requiem from a store selling early," according to Resident Evil fandom staple and regular leaker Dusk Golem, sharing an image of a shrink-wrapped copy of the game's Deluxe Edition. It's impossible to tell how many such early copies are out there, but the news is starting to spread.
I've already found a few screenshots and text descriptions purporting to spoil the events of Requiem, but people have always loved to lie on the internet and in today's AI era even the images are trivially easy to fake. But there's little reason to doubt at least some of the spoilers out there will be real, and if the stuff I've seen is real it's definitely the kind of thing the spoiler-conscious among you had best make efforts to avoid.
Resident Evil Requiem officially launches on February 27, so you've got 10 days to stay spoiler free. In the meantime, you can just watch the game's previous trailers over and over again. Did you notice the return of the Licker zombie from that scrapped Resident Evil 2 concept art in the State of Play trailer? Who needs spoilers when you can make your own?
