Researchers to give futuristic wind turbine a whirl

It is five metres tall, three metres wide, resembles a giant wind chime, and Australian researchers say it could be the answer to generating more renewable energy in metropolitan areas.

Academics at Flinders University have teamed with local start-up VAWT-X Energy to install the innovative wind turbine prototype in a field south of Adelaide, and in two weeks will test it for the first time.
