Recent research has unveiled the existence of a lunar cave that could serve as a shelter for astronauts on the moon. This discovery marks a significant advancement in our understanding of the moon's geology and potential for supporting human exploration.
The cave, located within Mare Tranquillitatis, was identified through radar data collected by the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Measuring at least 45 meters wide and between 30 and 80 meters long, the cave is believed to be just one part of a larger underground cavity formed by lava.
