Kind-hearted Lanarkshire Rotarians are helping Ukrainian refugees with funds raised at a Burns Supper.
Cambuslang Rotary Club held its annual event on Saturday, June 4, after it was postponed in January.
This year’s fundraising supper was held at the new venue of Cambuslang Rugby and Sports Club.
Rotary member Alison Thomson told Lanarkshire Live: “Our president Kenny Finnie chaired the evening, which began with the top table being piped by piper John Paton.
“Everyone then tucked into a delicious meal before settling down for the main speeches and entertainment. Tim and Leah McCabe wowed everyone with their performance and they were followed by Iain Glennie who gave a brilliant Immortal Memory.
“Iain is a former president of the Bridgeton Burns Club and he made special reference to the success of local Cambuslang schools in the Bridgeton schools’ competition.
“Cambuslang Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who came along and supported us and helped to make the evening such a success.
“The current total raised from tickets and raffle sales is over £2000 which will be distributed to local and international charities - this year we hope to assist Ukrainian refugees.”
