When asked about the effectiveness of the debate thresholds, McDaniel highlighted the Republican Party's aim to ensure that only serious contenders were on the debate stage. In comparison to the 2015 elections, where there were still 14 candidates participating, the current smaller field allows voters to closely scrutinize the candidates and make informed decisions. McDaniel emphasized the importance of Iowa, where voters have the opportunity to interact personally with the candidates and play a significant role in the selection process.
