The Minnesota Vikings were in the market for a quarterback in the 2023 NFL draft, but they struck out in their attempt to trade up. According to The Athletic’s Alec Lewis, the Vikings never considered Levis at 23rd overall.
From the get-go, Levis wasn't in the cards at No. 23 for the Vikings. https://t.co/OhUVHnIEbn

Why wasn’t Levis in the cards for the Vikings? There are a number of reasons, but there isn’t a staff that would have been able to get more information on him than the Vikings.
Head coach Kevin O’Connell has ties to both of Levis’ offensive coordinators Liam Cohen and Rich Scangrello, who also has ties with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
There is also a newly reported toe injury that teams are concerned about.
Will Levis’ left toe that caused him to miss two games last year was “problematic “ for one team that considered him.
Levis says the “toe has healed” and good to go.
Another team believes Levis could manage it but thought surgery would need discussion after season.

What will the Vikings do in the NFL draft in terms of quarterback? That remains to be seen, but Levis likely won’t be that guy.
