Report: Walker Little ‘expected to miss a few weeks’ with MCL sprain

The knee injury suffered by the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Walker Little has been diagnosed as an MCL sprain and the offensive lineman is “expected to miss a few weeks,” according to 1010XL’s Mia O’Brien.

Little, 24, started the first four games of the season at left tackle while Cam Robinson was serving a suspension. Upon the return of Robinson, Little was moved inside and made his first career start at left guard on Sunday. It lasted just 11 snaps before Little left the game with a knee injury.

After being evaluated in the locker room, Little watched the remainder of the game from the sideline. On Monday, he had an MRI done in Jacksonville to evaluate the severity of the problem.

All things considered, a sprain that’ll keep Little out for a brief period is great news for the Jaguars. Through the first five games of the season, Little is the Jaguars’ highest graded offensive lineman on Pro Football Focus and the second highest graded player on the offense behind only Trevor Lawrence.

With Little temporarily out of action, the Jaguars will presumably turn to Tyler Shatley and/or Ben Bartch to take over at left guard. Bartch started the first three games of the season, but was replaced in the starting lineup by Shatley in Week 4. When Little went down against the Buffalo Bills, it was Shatley who played the remainder of the game.
