In news that’ll have reality TV fans fired up, Big Brother Australia is officially coming back in 2026 with new housemates, more drama and (hopefully) more surprise eliminations.
After what was truly a successful debut season, which saw surfer mami Coco Beeby win the $135K prize, Network 10 has confirmed that the beloved social experiment will be returning sometime this year.
ICYMI, Network 10’s raunch reboot of the reality TV series in 2025 brought back live nominations, live evictions, and a 24/7 live stream on both 10Play and TikTok.
Throughout the 2025 season, the housemates and their actions within the house sparked online debates over clout chasing, gender roles, politics and romance.
“Another year, another group of housemates who think they can outsmart me. How adorable,” Big Brother himself said of the renewal.
“Australia, I hope you’re ready, because I’ve been watching, I’ve been planning, and let’s just say… this year’s surprises will be my finest work yet. Welcome back to my House.”
Mel Tracina, who wrangled housemate activities last year with style, will also be returning to host Big Brother Australia 2026!
Big Brother Australia ‘s rumoured twist
News of Big Brother‘s renewal for 2026 comes months after an insider claimed that Network 10 was looking at potentially airing two seasons in one year. Speaking to New Idea, the insider claimed that the first Big Brother season could air between Survivor Australia and MasterChef, with a second season airing later in the year.
“There’s talk of doubling down while interest is hot,” an insider told the publication.
“April keeps coming up, but so does doing a second season later in the year if everything lines up.
“As long as Dreamworld, Ten, and the key players are happy, Big Brother has a future… Right now, everything’s on the table.”
But with Australian Survivor: Redemption donezo, and MasterChef Australia currently chugging along, something tells me we’re only going to get the one season this time around.
Unfortunately, not much tea surrounding housemates, premiere date and house changes have been revealed, but what I am truly manifesting is the return of Friday Night Games.
