After a rumor popped up stating the Tennessee Titans were trading running back Derrick Henry to the Philadelphia Eagles, there’s a new report refuting that rumor.
Former NFL player Akbar Gbajabiamila, who played for the Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins during his career and is now a host of “Ninja Warrior” and co-host of “The Talk” on CBS, stated Tennessee is dealing Henry to Philly early Saturday morning.
However, according to a report from Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, the Titans and Eagles haven’t even discussed a trade for the superstar running back.
The Titans and Eagles have had zero conversations about a trade for the running back who’s heading into his eighth season, his last under contract with Tennessee,” Kuharsky wrote.
Derrick Henry to the #Eagles? The #Titans haven't even talked to Philly https://t.co/3urHc8hLgk

Adding to Kuharsky’s report, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk is reporting that the rumored deal between Philly and Tennessee is not happening.
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it won’t be happening,” Florio said.
Because Gbajabiamila isn’t your traditional news breaker ala Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, his report was rightly met with plenty of skepticism. These reports from Kuharsky and Florio will only add to that doubt.
While I continue to believe Henry will remain in Nashville in 2023, nothing can ever be ruled out with the Titans seemingly in a transition year, and after the unexpected trade of A.J. Brown last offseason.
