The Houston Texans are taking a look at the linebacking corps in the 2022 NFL draft.
According to Aaron Wilson from the Pro Football Network, the Texans brought in former Baylor Bears linebacker Terrel Bernard for a visit.
The 6-1, 222-pound linebacker generated 103 combined tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and four pass breakups through 13 games in his final season with Baylor.
Bernard fits a similar profile to last year’s fifth-round linebacker from TCU, Garret Wallow. Both are of comparable size and are quick linebackers who should be able to play coverage for the Texans in Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 scheme.
The eight-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll member graduated from nearby La Porte High School. Bernard has an undergraduate degree in health, kinesiology, and leisure studies as he graduated in Aug. 2020 and has been working on his master’s degree in sports management since.
