The Tennessee Titans made a pair of roster moves on Monday, releasing outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi and linebacker Joe Schobert.
A 2021 free-agent signing of the Titans who was re-signed in 2022, Adeniyi appeared in 19 games in that span, but just three this season after dealing with an injury that sidelined him from Week 3 until Week 13.
On top of his duties on special teams, Adeniyi showed some flashes of being an impact backup edge defender in his first season in Nashville, notching 2.5 sacks.
However, he wasn’t able to replicate that or stay on the field in 2022, and the writing was on the wall for him after being a healthy scratch in Week 14.
Schobert was signed to the team’s practice squad earlier this season and was eventually promoted to the active roster. He appeared in six games and tallied 13 tackles and one forced fumble.
The Titans will return to action on Sunday in Week 15 when they visit the Los Angeles Chargers.
