Report: Steph Curry won’t need MRI, avoided major issue with left foot before Game 4 vs. Celtics

As the Boston Celtics stormed away with a victory in Game 3 of the NBA Finals behind a red-hot fourth-quarter run, things seemed to get worse for the Golden State Warriors.

With four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Steph Curry scrambled for a loose basketball with Boston’s Al Horford. While wrestling for the ball, Curry appeared to suffer a potential injury when Horford landed on his left foot.

Despite the potential injury scare, signs point to Curry being on the court for Game 4 on Friday. According to Shams Charania of The Atheltic, there’s “optimism” for Curry’s status for Game 4 on Friday night. Curry won’t need an MRI and has avoided a “major injury,” per Charania.

To have a chance of evening the series in Game 4, the Warriors desperately need Curry on the floor. Through three games of the NBA Finals, Curry is averaging 31.3 points on 48.5% shooting from the floor and 48.6% from long distance.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is set for Friday at 6 p.m. PT at Boston’s TD Garden.
