In what has been the most active free agency period of all time for the Pittsburgh Steelers is showing no signs of slowing down. According to NFL reporter Josinia Anderson, free agent cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon is planning to re-sign with Pittsburgh on a two-year contract.
Witherspoon joined the Steelers midway through the season but ended up the team leader in interceptions with three. It appears the Steelers will lose Joe Haden to free agency but the return of Witherspoon paired with the signing of Levi Wallace leaves the Steelers secondary in good hands.
The Steelers traded their 2022 fifth-round NFL draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks back in October of last season. When the team first made the trade it felt like nothing was going to come of it but once he was plugged into the starting lineup, Witherspoon really stepped his game up.
