It’s been a slightly chaotic 12-hour stretch for the Raiders amid a late-night decision to part ways with general manager Dave Ziegler and coach Josh McDaniels. The team announced the news at 1 a.m. ET via their official website and social media accounts.
While the timing of the decision was surprising, the fact it played out just hours after the NFL trade deadline was also noteworthy. And based on one report, it seems the team's timing on parting with Ziegler and McDaniels may have impacted any potential trade deadline moves for the team, as Josina Anderson of CBS Sports highlighted.
Interesting comment from a team that was still hoping to pry a playmaker from the #Raiders on trade deadline day:

“Explains why they ghosted us…Nobody responded yesterday.”
As Anderson stated, one team told her the Raiders “ghosted” them at the trade deadline, and never responded after inquiring about a player.
It's a pretty incredible situation, and it goes to show how strongly owner Mark Davis must have felt about needing to make the move immediately as opposed to holding off any longer.
