The New England Patriots will meet with Northern Iowa offensive tackle Trevor Penning on Wednesday, according to Pro Football Network’s Ryan Fowler. This is a top-30 visit.
Penning was the only offensive lineman named as a finalist for the Walter Payton Award. The award is presented to the National Offensive Player of the Year. He started in all 12 games at offensive tackle for the Panthers. He was also the first player in Northern Iowa history to be invited to the Senior Bowl.
Currently, the Patriots have Isaiah Wynn and Trent Brown at the right and left tackle spots. New England does not have a ton of depth beyond those two at those positions.
Northern Iowa OT Trevor Penning will meet with the Patriots tomorrow on a Top 30 visit, per source.
New England currently has the 21st overall selection in the first round.

With the Patriots selecting 21st overall, Penning would be an option, as the Patriots look to bolster line depth after the departures of Shaq Mason and Ted Karras.
