Report: Patriots, OT Trent Brown agree on contract restructure

Veteran offensive tackle Trent Brown reportedly agreed on a contract restructure with the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Patriots are adding $2 million worth of incentives to Brown’s deal, which is still set to expire at the end of the season.

Per Schefter, the deal was negotiated by agent Drew Rosenhaus and Patriots director of player personnel Matt Groh.

After playing in the opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, Brown was sidelined in Week 2 with a concussion. The offensive line hasn’t been complete since last season. It has been a patchwork effort up front throughout the spring practices, training camp, preseason and now, the regular season.

Brown getting back on the field would do wonders for the unit. For the Patriots, this contract restructure is a worthy pay bump for the man tasked with protecting Mac Jones’ blindside on the field.
