Report: ‘No long-term concern’ with Boston Celtics over Robert Williams III knee

There is naturally always concern when a key part of a team’s rotation misses time due to a serious injury, so lingering concern about Boston Celtics center Robert Williams III’s knee after his quick return to action following a meniscal tear is to be expected and normal.

But such concern is not shared by people behind the scenes who ought to know whether that concern is warranted, according to new reporting from MassLive’s Brian Robb. The MassLive reporter shared in a recent article that “there is no long-term concern about (Timelord’s) knee injury.” The team expects the former Texas A&M standout to be 100% by the time training camp rolls around.

It looks as if some preventive work is being done to strengthen Williams knee to protect him from future injuries as well. Robb noted the Boston big man’s recent Instagram posts on his training hint at such a strategy.

For a team that often struggled in his absence in the postseason and looked better even when the Louisiana native was practically playing off of just one leg, that should be welcome news indeed.
