Report: LeBron’s Injured Foot to Be Reassessed in Two Weeks

Injured Lakers forward LeBron James's right foot "is expected to be reassessed in two weeks," according to a Tuesday afternoon report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

James injured the foot during Los Angeles’s 111–108 win over the Mavericks Sunday afternoon, during which he played through the injury and recorded 26 points and eight rebounds. Reports emerged Monday calling the injury significant and likely to cause James to miss "an extended period of time."

The Lakers have struggled to find solid ground in a crowded Western Conference this season, and currently sit in 12th place—a half-game back of the 10th-place Pelicans with 21 games to go in the regular season.

According to Wojnarowski, how Los Angeles fares without James could affect the timetable for his return.

James has been his usual excellent self for the Lakers this season, averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game in his 20th season in the league. On Feb. 7, James passed Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the all-time leading scorer in NBA history.
