It appears NFL fans won’t have to wait until the regular season to see Aaron Rodgers make his debut for his new team. Rodgers will play his first game for the Jets in his team’s preseason finale against the Giants on Saturday, according to the New York Post’s Brian Costello.
Rodgers didn’t appear in any of the team’s first three preseason games, as Zach Wilson got the start at quarterback in each contest, but now it appears fans will finally get a taste of what’s to come in 2023.
New York traded for the four-time MVP back in April, sparking an entire summer of dialogue on whether the Jets can be a Super Bowl contender.
The Jets-Giants rivalry is a preseason tradition, and it’s an appropriate matchup for Rodgers to properly introduce himself to New York fans. The game is set for Saturday at 6 p.m. ET and will be televised on NFL Network.
