The Jaguars claimed veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds on Wednesday, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Reynolds, an eighth-year pro, was waived by Denver on Tuesday. He joined the Broncos on a two-year, $9 million free-agent contract in March after spending four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, one with the Tennessee Titans and two with the Detroit Lions.
Reynolds has logged 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown this season and 232 catches for 3,116 yards and 20 touchdowns over 112 games in his career, including 54 starts.
The Broncos placed Reynolds on their injured reserve with a finger injury in Week 5 and opted to waive him rather than facilitate his return to Denver’s active roster this week.
Three suspects have been arrested in connection to a shooting that allegedly targeted Reynolds and two companions in October while he was on the Broncos’ injured reserve. Reynolds reportedly suffered minor injuries during the shooting.
Jacksonville’s wide receiver room has been plagued by short and long-term injuries this season.
The Jaguars lost starting slot receiver Christian Kirk for the year in Week 8 when he broke his collarbone against the Green Bay Packers. Starting outside receiver Gabe Davis was ruled out for the campaign after tearing his meniscus against the Detroit Lions in Week 11.
Starting outside receiver and rookie sensation Brian Thomas Jr. was also impacted by, but played through, a chest injury in Weeks 9-11. Backup slot receiver Devin Duvernay spent Weeks 6-9 on the injured reserve with a hurt hamstring.
