While the Jacksonville Jaguars have a busy week ahead of them at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, it hasn’t stopped them from bolstering their coaching staff. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamal, they added another offensive quality controls coach in Tyler Tettleton, who will join them after spending last season as a pass game coordinator and running backs coach for the Ohio University football program.

Before his time with the Bobcats as a coach, Tettleton was an offensive assistant for the Louisiana State Tigers under Ed Orgeron in 2020 and was an offensive quality control coach under Freddie Kitchens for the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
Tettleton spent the season before his time with the Browns in the NFL, too, as he was a pro personnel intern in 2018. Before that, he was a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma from 2015-17 under Bob Stoops and Lincoln Riley.
Like Pederson, Tettleton is a former quarterback except he didn’t do it on the NFL level. Instead, he was the signal-caller for the Bobcats from 2009-13. Eventually, he found himself briefly playing for the Hamilton Tigers of the Canadian Football League.
In the process of his collegiate career, he was able to make history by being the first quarterback in Bobcats history to throw for over 3,000 in a single season.
Tettleton will join a Jags staff that already had one offensive quality control coach in Nick Williams. However, Pederson had multiple offensive quality control coaches on his Philadelphia Eagles staffs, so it’s not a surprise that he’s following the same structure in Jacksonville.
