Raiders star running back Josh Jacobs had the franchise tag placed on him earlier in the offseason, and he has maintained that he doesn’t plan to sign it as he seeks a new contract.
While the Colts have been open to potentially trading star running back Jonathan Taylor instead of giving him the contract extension that he is seeking, there is no indication that the Raiders are planning on trading Jacobs.
In fact, Las Vegas has no interest in trading Jacobs at all, according to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. However, with Jacobs still unwilling to sign his franchise tag tender, the reigning NFL rushing champion’s status remains unclear for Week 1 against the Broncos on Sept. 10.
Jacobs led the league in rushing last season, carrying the ball 340 times for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns.
