Craig Carton will depart WFAN for FOX Sports at the end of June, leaving open a spot during the afternoon drive. But WFAN didn’t have to search far and wide for a replacement, quickly finding an in-house candidate to fill the role: New York Giants great Tiki Barber.
Gary Meyers was the first to report that Barber would replace the departing Carton.
Breaking news: @TikiBarber will be replacing @craigcartonlive on afternoon drive time on @WFAN660, teaming with @EvanRobertsWFAN. Sources say announcement is planned for Monday. Congrats to Giants all-time leading rusher who’s been co-hosting WFAN’s midday show.

On Friday, the New York Post confirmed that Barber will become Evan Roberts’ co-host.
The Post’s Andrew Marchand confirmed that Tiki Barber will co-host in WFAN afternoon drive alongside Evan Roberts after Carton departs the program at the end of the month to focus exclusively on his FS1 morning show.
The 48-year-old Barber currently serves as a co-host alongside Brandon Tierney during the midday broadcast. The duo have become quite popular over the last several years and it remains unclear who will fill Barber’s vacated role.
Carton said his decision to leave WFAN had nothing to do with the network or anyone in the building. Rather, it was a personal decision that was made in the best interest of his family.
“I love Evan. It has nothing to do with Evan Roberts, nothing to do with anyone here,” Carton said. “It has to do with my personal life and the opportunity I have to do a show at Fox Sports and FS1. WFAN is family to me. WFAN is everything to me. I’m a 30-plus year talk show host and radio is the only thing I’ve ever done well.”
Barber has yet to comment on his new role but expectations are that he will fill Carton’s seat beginning on Monday, July 3.
