Report: Former Panthers exec Adrian Wilson arrested on domestic-violence related charges in June

We may have a bit more context behind the Carolina Panthers’ quiet dismissal of Adrian Wilson.

As reported by Joe Person of The Athletic on Tuesday, the now-former vice president of player personnel was arrested on three domestic violence-related charges in Scottsdale, Ariz. The arrest, per a spokesperson from the Scottsdale Police Department and court records, occurred in the early morning of June 1.

The departure became widely known this past weekend, when Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio noted that Wilson’s profile was no longer active on the team’s official website. According to Florio, the organization provided the following comment on the exit:

“Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers. Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”

Wilson was hired to the position in February of 2023. The High Point, N.C. native and NC State product served in numerous roles for the Arizona Cardinals’ front office between 2015 and 2022—including as a regional scout, director of pro scouting and vice president of pro scouting.

A third-round pick of the Cardinals in 2001, Wilson played all 12 of his NFL seasons in Arizona. The decorated safety ended up with five Pro Bowl selections, one First-team All-Pro nod, two Second-team All-Pro nods and a spot in the franchise’s Ring of Honor.
