Report: Draymond Green agrees to 4-year, $100 million contract with the Warriors

Within the first minutes of free agency, the first big domino has dropped for the Golden State Warriors. After declining his player option in the final year of his contract with Warriors and entering unrestricted free agency, Draymond Green is reportedly sticking around in the Bay Area.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Green has agreed to a new four-year, $100 million contract to return to the Warriors. Year four of his contract contains a player option, per Charania.

With Green returning, the championship trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Green will return to the Warriors for another season together in San Francisco.

During the 2022-23 regular season, Green averaged 8.5 points on career-best 52.7% shooting from the floor to go along with 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 dimes over 73 contests with the Warriors. In his 11th season in the league, Green earned a place on the NBA’s All-Defensive second team. The 2022-23 season was Green’s eighth appearance on the NBA’s All-Defensive team.

Green has spent all of his career in Golden State since being drafted in the second round out of Michigan State in the 2012 NBA draft. Along with making four All-Star game appearances for the Warriors, Green has been a centerpiece in Golden State’s four championships.
