The Miami Dolphins have done a lot of work early in the offseason to re-sign players from their 2022 roster.
Players who are already returning include Nik Needham, Duke Riley, Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, Kendall Lamm and Geron Christian.
One player who Miami hasn’t made an effort to keep is fullback John Lovett. The Dolphins opted not to tender Lovett, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Lovett, 26, signed with Miami last offseason but was placed on injured reserve before the regular season. Because of the timing of his placement, he was forced to sit out the year.
With Alec Ingold holding the top spot as the fullback on the roster and Tanner Conner showing some versatility as a hybrid fullback/tight end, Miami may not need Lovett around for minicamp or training camp.
