Andrea Radrizzani reportedly risks losing out on £270 million if Leeds United are relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers currently own 44 percent of the club, and have an option to take overall control at Elland Road in a deal which is said to be valued at £420 million and expires in January next year.
According to the Daily Mail, The 49ers Enterprises would still be interested in completing the takeover even if Leeds are playing in the Championship next season.

However, the provisional price agreed during the 2020/21 season only applies if Leeds remain in the Premier League, with sources close to the club reportedly claiming that the 49ers would pay no more than £150 million in the event of relegation.
The report claims no fixed price was agreed in the case of Leeds playing in the Championship, and Radrizzani is not obliged to sell under the existing terms of the agreement.
Nevertheless, Radrizzani has publicly announced his reluctance to invest the funds required to propel Leeds to the next level, and also has a reported interest in buying Inter Milan in his native Italy.
The Mail add that Leeds would need to renegotiate the deal if relegated to the Championship or agree to a cheap sale with a return of bonuses if Leeds achieve promotion.
Leeds currently sit just two points clear of danger, and have seen their survival prospects questioned following back-to-back thrashings against Crystal Palace and Liverpool respectively.
