The New York Giants are seeking a trade partner to take cornerback James Bradberry’s contract of their hands this offseason but have yet to find one.
One team that has been repeatedly linked to such a deal are the Kansas City Chiefs, but it turns out they have no interest as per NFL.com’s Jeffri Chadiha.
The talk about the @Chiefs looking to trade for @Giants CB James Bradberry isn’t serious. A @Chiefs source says the team hasn’t been involved with that and don’t plan on getting involved. They don’t want to take on Bradberry’s $13.4 million salary.

Bradberry, a 2020 Pro Bowl selection, is entering the final year of a three-year, $43.5 million free agent deal that will pay him $13.4 million in salary this year. Most teams have little appetite for giving up a draft pick (or picks) for an expensive one-year rental and want the Giants to assume some of the financial burden by eating some of Bradberry’s salary.
The Giants may simply end up kicking the can down the road on Bradberry – who is still in his prime at age 28 – and restructure his deal by adding future seasons. General manager Joe Schoen has said he was not in the business of doing that but may have no choice if he can’t find a suitor for Bradberry this summer.
