The Cleveland Browns are on the hunt for another running back to add to their roster after the devastating injury to the league’s best in Nick Chubb. They will give Jerome Ford the first-team reps from here on out, but finding a depth piece to add another body to the room is now a priority. And as he is still cast off by the Los Angeles Rams, the Browns have been in contact about Cam Akers (according to Jordan Schultz of The Score).
Akers is one of many options that include Kareem Hunt, Rashaad Penny of the Philadelphia Eagles, and more. The current Rams running back has had spurts of brilliance for the Rams but has spent most of his time in the NFL either inactive or injured.
Buy Browns TicketsThe price would be low for Akers, and the Browns are a team that loves to engage in pick swaps. One can imagine the price tag would be a late-round pick swap for the services of the young running back as well.
